What Sitoveneto is
Roberto Astuni, Luciano Brunelli e Silvana Dal Cero are the promoters of this site whose purpose is to connect the cultural associations existing on the territory. Considering the importance that publicity and information exchange have nowadays, they thought to create a reference point for all who are volountarily involved in this activity, making the information exchange easier, supporting cooperation among different groups, creating a knowledge-network , so that each of them can be more conscious of the different cultural activities that our region offers.
Purspose(s)
Veneto's situation has different aspects , but it's not well-known by Italians nor by Veneti. The cliché of an ignornant Vèneto, incapable of speaking italian (as if this were the only cultural language), good only at "far schei" (making money), distant from the learned world, dies hard. Still, to change one's mind it's sufficient to look around carefully and suddenly you see a vital world, where a lot of people are occuped in all sorts of cultural activities. We did so and we realized that it's necessary to join forces, energy, knowledge, skill, informations in order to make visible as much possible the poetic, artistic and creative aspect of venet mind. It's the right time to be aware of our capacity and to be fairly proud of it. It's the only way we have to give a true image of ourselves and to get rid of stereotypes that TV and newspaper still convey.
Who can take part
Every body can take part this cooperation network : all no-profit associations, which promote culture, language, traditions, history of Veneto of old and of today. First we got in contact with associations of Bassano (Basan) and its environs but we are cooperating with groups of other districts (provinsie) so that they can build up a network like this in their own territory.
Advantages
Associations can draw attention to themselves, using this Internet site in which each of them can present its story, its activity field, its programme, its "spokemen"
Groups can get in touch easier, and they 'll have more chances to work together
Thanks to contacts between our site and the associations of Vèneti abroad, promoting activities with our brothers Vèneti in the world will be easier.
You can know and get in contact with cultural groups of other districts so that each of them have then possibility to expand their range of action;
Slowly, a new, culturally advenced image of Vèneto will appear and destroy old commonplaces about venet people's ignorance that TV and newspapers still present.
